Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your most common questions

• Is Electrolysis really permanent?
The reason why this method has become so popular is because it is the only permanent means of hair removal. Some treatments claim to be permanent, but they have been found to be no more effective than using tweezers. The FDA has not allowed any manufacturer of a laser devise to claim “permanent,” “long-term hair removal,” or “painless”.

• Is Electrology safe?
When performed by a Registered Electrologist, it is safe.  Here at Image Care Electrolysis, the electrologists always wear gloves, use disposable needles, and strict sterilization methods are practiced.

• Is Electrolysis painful?
There can be minor discomfort, and just how much varies according to the sensitivity of the client. A treatment consists of inserting an insulated probe into a hair follicle and releasing electric current, which cauterizes the blood vessel, preventing regrowth. Most clients don’t feel the needle entering the hair follicle, only the current being released. This has been described as a quick sting, which is over before you know it.

• Can Electrolysis be done on any part of the body?
Yes, except inside of the nose and ears. Unwanted hair problems can be a source of embarrassment anywhere on the body. Some of the most common areas treated include the lip, chin, brows, chest, breast, underarms, stomach, and swimsuit line. Don’t let excess hair detract from your looks and self-confidence. You can have treatments that will remove unwanted hair forever. With all the advantages of electrolysis, why not start now!

• Is Electrolysis expensive?
Not really. Of course the initial time and cost is more, but remember that this is the only permanent method of hair removal and it will save you both hours and expense in the long run.
